6 month thinking about it, and I still want this as a tattoo somewhere.

Yes/no?

Where?

I also, if getting this one, would have some of the same red worked into my current sole tattoo.

Seeing as I am never getting round to the "stars on my back in the shape of a constellation" tattoo (too much effort - I need to draw it to scale, and my back is bigger than A4)

kinda cool, i don't love it, but it's not for my body, so...

where- how about the back of your neck?

how would you use the red on your other tattoo?

back of the neck might be cool, like inbetween the shoulderblades? I like red and black together, maybe run a dark red down the middle of the other one.

For me, and my tastes? No I think it looks too crowded and confusing.

For you, and yours? Well only you know. It's not ugly, it's different to many peoples ink so if it works for you - go for it. Just show us pictures when its done.

Placement for something shaped like that is hard, it'd probably wrap nicely around a few areas, but I think it would look strange if it were asymetrical.

Where did you have in mind?

really glad to have your opinion, oh multi-tatted one :)

I see what you mean about too crowded; I could do without the white symbols at the bottom BUT I DON'T KNOW WHAT THEY MEAN! It all symbolises the Chinese Zodiac sign, as much as I think Zodiacs are fairly nonsensical it's about the only thing I can think of that has personal meaning that I'd want tattoo'd on me (the other one being the constellation of picses in little stars on my back, which I really really want but have utterly failed to provide tattoo artist with 1:1 drawing)

as for being different - is it significantly different enough from ultra-fashionista "chinese symbol" tattoos?

Hmmm ... when I said crowded I was specifically thinking of the symbol in the dragon's circle, that and the white bits there - seem very busy.

Honestly after closing the window and getting ready to write my reply I'd completely forgotten about the white symbols at the bottom! They don't look too bad, it's more the middle that seems overly crowded to me.

"Different" to me means unlike anything I've seen before, so it's certainly different to the simple symbol tattoos! (I have one, but I think there are no pictures online of it which is the way I want it :)

A 1:1 scale should be simple enough, with an enlarging photocopier right? Or even a decent graphics program? I'd be interested in seeing that as a fellow piscean...

True about the photocopying - but it's getting a good quality starmap of the constellation itself that's always proved a bit difficult, and then I have to think about what sort of stars.

I see what you mean about the symbol in the circle; but I still like it. What do you think of between the shoulder blades?

A good placement! I'd either put it there or the lower spine - like where my Smaug (http://www.steve.org.uk/Images/Tattoo/00.jpg) is. I like the bottom of the back because its easy to show and it's just where people put their hands!

I think it wants to be in the "middle" of you, because it's quite symmetrical and would look lopsided if it were to one side. (Unless you planned to balance it with something on the other side later).

I've never been too keen on having a tattoo where you have Smaug - no idea why, I think I want all my ID Marks up on the top quarter of me. So I can keep an eye on them maybe! - lower stomach and anything below the waist also does not appeal as tattoo locations. So I think I might go for this one, between the shoulder blades, and then work at getting that Piscese tattoo.

Next job I get, this is my treat :)
