The Wildfowl & Wetlands trust are satelite tracking Whooper Swans in 2009. There's now a lot of these projects which harness internet capabilities - google earth being the main one - allowing us normos a fascinating look at real-time data from big ecology projects. I think this is a fantastic use of tech.
