I was looking into old rail lines in Edinburgh yesterday - there used to be a train station next to my new flat - and saw this trail for a documentary on BBC4 on Wednesday with Ian Hislop on the infamous Beeching Axe of 1/3 of British rail lines

Corvids (Crows, Rooks, Ravens, Jays, Jackdaws, Magpies and Choughs) are pretty f*cking clever - this video is a nice insight to it

Online shopping, then calculates your bill at each of the big 4 supermarkets and offers cheaper alternatives instore - then order and have it delivered online. I'm still holding out for Netto/Lidl/Aldi online shopping...

Date: 2008-09-28 12:17 pm (UTC)I'm thinking of a day or two walking Edinburgh and taking pictures of all the old stations. I'm not really a train spotter but I'm fascinated by old land use - I also found out that my flat used to be Abbeyhill Laundry (Steamie), and Meadowbank shopping centre, which I though might have been a rail switching/goods yard, was actually an Iron Foundary right up until relatively recently.
