ID cards

unfortunately,

a: the Labour guy is right, in that the Scottish Parliament has zero say in whether ID cards are rolled out - making this yet another effectively pointless gesture [Jimmy Parly is REALLY good at those]

b: the BBC website - furiously frustratingly - has no response mechanism with which to ask interesting questions such as 'who are these 2/3 of people? I know of none' and 'why does the Scottish Parliament have no say?'

this one of the massive number of ways in which I find the SP pretty much useless. It has no power over issues that I care about. Well, it probably *does*, just not that I'm aware of.

IAWTC - I've just had a heated argument with my dad about this, but you are right, of course, another pointless gesture. Sigh.

Who _are_ these 2/3 of people? the only hope is that absolutely no-one signs up for ID card during the "voluntary" discount period that begins later this year, and then doesn't get one afterwards. Including MPs. And the Queen.
