  I'm sorry, has no-one ever got a train without a seat reservation? Leave Edinburgh going to Newcastle, examine empty seat reservations until you find one marked Edinburgh - Newcastle, or further south, and sit in it. I mean, do people really not do this? I'd better not sit there, it's been reserved for some AIR.
