The Christmas Truce

I found a really detailed bit of commentary on reddit about thr Christmas day truce in 1914 - there was hardly any football other than a few kickabouts, and the truce was mostly used to bury the dead in no man's land.

If you don't already, I strongly recommend /r/askhistorians - it's heavily moderated to make every answer a well sourced piece written by an expert historian. really interesting & educational stuff

It's definitely one of the best subreddits.

I actually don't read Reddit at all. Maybe I should start.

The vast majority of big subreddits are hellish and not worth it, but smaller, specialist subs can be excellent. I regularly read /r/daystrominstitute for ultra serious star trek discussions, /r/skyrimmods, /r/buildapc, /r/actuallesbians, /r/OnceUponATime, /r/whatisthisthing... you get the idea

Also the /r/askhistorians subreddit is currently voting on "question of the year" it'd be a great place to kill some time!
