I am become Splinter

Something that is nice:

so my housemate is in her early 20s, and one day a few months ago comes up to me and says "oh Sarah, you're clever," clearly confusing me with someone else, "how should I vote in the referendum?"

I told her instead to find out for herself, and read both sides, and come to her own opinion rather than just copy anyone else. Which she evidently did, and is now happily wearing a Yes badge. It's really nice to see these young people forming their own opinions on stuff, so hooray for that!

Yay, that's awesome! As I've stated before, it took me a long time to be confident in synthesising my own opinions about politics and stuff, so I'm always impressed by young people who take the initiative and make up their own minds. And good on you for encouraging it!

Also I emailed our lodger to see if she needed to register to vote at our house and she said no worries, she already had her postal vote sorted and "Emile Pankhurst would be proud of your rallying efforts!"
